Terrence Talbot is a cofounder and partner of Lucas LLP. His legal practice is focused primarily on the software development industry and is complemented by his talents and experience as an award winning software architect and engineer.
In addition to holding management and software development positions at Nicholas|Applegate Capital Management, Sun Microsystems, and Agouron Pharmaceuticals, Terrence has been a founder, chief operating officer, vice-president of product development, and general counsel for several start-up ventures. To Lucas LLP he brings hands-on experience at all stages of such ventures, from idea conception, personnel recruitment, software development, and incorporation to securing angel and venture capital funding, establishing foreign entities, overseeing foreign employees and contractors, and developing exit strategies. Terrence is equally at home negotiating deal terms in the boardroom as he is architecting and refining a software application's code with a team of engineers, a combination that is unusual and extraordinarily helpful in today's technology-driven markets.
In addition to serving as a business and legal consultant to start-up companies, Terrence has edited several published volumes of high-level programming books, and is the codeveloper of Sandvox, a leading website development application for Macintosh computers.
Terrence received his B.A. in Politics, Economics, Rhetoric, and Law from the University of Chicago and his J.D. from the Boston University School of Law. He is a member of the California Bar Association and a contributor to several technology forums and developer groups.
